Cobra Or Ws6

i know this is probably a stupid question on this forum... but which would be the more favored... an 03- o4 cobra convertable with a pulley and a warranty!!!!...or a 00 trans am WS6 making 440 RWHP from a reputable builder... powertrain warranty only:chug:

For me, easy choice.

The Cobra handles better. WS6s are ugly. Plus, I made 441 rwhp on pump gas with a crappy tune (expecting 460+ with a little tuning) and only 4 mods (catback, CAI, midpipe, pulley), still get 20+ mpg, and could drive all the way to California and back without being worried AT ALL about the car overheating, breaking down, etc.

We looked at the ws6 before our purchase. I loved the car until I drove it. You can't see the front of the car from the driver seat nor see anything at all out the back of the car. Your **s sits on the ground and the front always seemed to drag. The power was good!!! Now the cobra is the best all around. All the power you want easy to drive and a good smooth ride, plus its a convertable the choice is easy.

Ok, I'll be the odd ball here.. WS6 for me... I've had one for 7 years and even though Dad has my old 2000 now I still get to see it. The ONE thing about Mustangs I do love over a WS6 is you can get them to sound 10x better. That's the only comparison I can do since I've never driven a Mustang let alone sat in one.

If your wanting speed, go w/ Cobra coupe, plus it'd be cheaper for more mods. Also cheaper on insurance perhaps?

I would test drive them both, and see which one felt better to me. The 03 04 cobras are very nice driving cars. At the same time the ws6's are pretty ffreaking sweet as well as far as looks and power, but I have never driven one.

LOL vette is out of range, the ws6 is asking 16,000 and the cobra wants freaking 28,900, and it has 23000 miles on it, plus it s convertable... he wont drop his price... but on the other hand i think it handles better, and it seems like it pulls more in the bottom...

the ws6 has the dyno showing 438.8 rwhp... it has all the big stuff except for heads finished... and it sounds like it could kill you just by revving it... its also the sweetest black TA i have ever seen... but... it has 73000 miles on it, its a 2000 and, no warranty, no BLOWER so no scream... and it will not hook.............................................. ...................................ever

I think you first need to deciede on how much you want to spend, and how much you can truly afford to spend per month, also get insurance quotes between the two.

ummm... i think its a 10 bolt... and yeah... my best friend has one that is about to go... i already found another cobra making 440 to the RW and they only want 23500, that seems like a better deal... but the cobra is about 40 dollars more expensive through the insurance... and about 15 more in payments than what i pay now... not bad... what do ya'll think?

i'm with the jeanyus on this one, i'm making about 475-525 rwhp now (getting dyno tune in feb.) on my cobra with few mods....2.8 blower pulley, long tubs, o/r H, cat-back, diablo predator, and some idler pullies. plus looks wise a ws6 and got nothing on a cobra

I made 470rwhp in my '04 Cobra. 93oct, 2.76 Pulley, Offroad X, Cat-Back & Tune. A WS6 just can't hang.. :banana:

I would say 03 Snake hands down, you can spend $2500 and get numbers similar to my sig...no brainer IMO.

You can find them all day for 19-23k with reasonable miles.... 50-80k.
The FRC like mines ive been finding anywhere from 16-23k, I ran a 12.84 @ 111mph all stock my first time ever to the track. With exhaust/intake I trapped 114.
The resell on them dropped bad after the C6 came out.

But yeah i hated mine.... when I shifted from 3rd to 2nd at 6k on the bottle :baby: but she runs better then ever now, lol. :jester:

WS6 has a good look to it IMO, If I had a F-body it would be a WS6.
I know Cobras can be real mean and the mods are really cheap.They dont look too bad.
A Corvette is a Corvette, everyone looks at it going down the road (grabs attention with a exhaust/cam especially) but the mods cost double what a WS6/SS would.
All prices for them fluxiate alot though, ive found 500-600rwhp fbodies going for 11k+

I say get a Cobra and enjoy it. I could have bought a vette or a new GT but i got the Cobra and i have never been happier. The only regret i have is that i didn't check on a Viper first:(

surprised to see you only making 470rw jeanyus......and about the gt and such, he wanted to ask a ques so i let him use it(it was originally his account anyway.....). yeah as ramsie said about the price i bought mine with 6k miles on it for 24k i was totally taken back by the deal and i have never had a prob with the car so i dont thing anything was wrong with it either. it had been hit lightly in the fender (just a dent) but they threw a new one on and sold it for 24k with 6k miles as i stated so it should be easy finding one with 50k miles for less than 22k.....

I'm only making 441 rwhp...but if you'll read my thread in the dyno forum, you'll see that it's because of a crappy tune. 470 with my mods would actually be kinda high for a '03 Cobra on Blake's dyno (seems to read a little low compared to a lot of numbers you see online). I'm expecting 460+ with a tune. My car does make more torque than most '03 Cobras with the same mods or even a little more modded, though. :D

I have an 01 Cobra vert. :rant: I want a 03-04 Cobra vert or an 05-06 Mustang GT vert. I also have a Sonic Blue SVT Focus daily driver that is on loan to my sister right now.
