Here is a pic of mine and Lee (the consultant's) latest project. Been kind of hard on the ole lad. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to submit. By the way I would really like to use the automatic tranny in this one any ideas on a quick shift of some sort? Car is bone stock no mods never been touched. Need some interior such as door panels and all the plastic would be nice if any one knows where to get any please advise.:metal:

I like the red stripe. Sets it off like the Harley trucks.

Joe, that car looks really good cleaned up and with the tint removed! :nice:

Thanks did not do too much today, by the way did they not originally come with a red stripe in the middle of the molding. Paint really not that good needs more elbow grease maybe. Looks better with out tint, kind of helps the rough paint for now until we get it mechanically sound. Then maybe we will know what we have and I will have a better idea of what I want. Any one have any lowering springs also?

Not sure yet, have to get it cleaned up and all the pieces together in interior. Exhaust is shot sounds aweful, but it runs pretty good considering.

I put a Bauman Engineering shift kit in my GT and loved it. Although, that was 11 years ago and I'm not sure if they're still around though.

Joe,
Car looks good, I agree with the others, I would get ride of the snake and move the strip to the right place.
Other than that spings would be a good start, I would also look at a full exhaust and pullies, and remove the air silencer to start.
If you do the shift kit, look at maybe a 3.73 gear also.

Dale McPeters

www.50resto.com - has most of the interior plastic etc. that you may need.

Nice car and I agree move the red stripe to where it is supposed to be and get rid of the snake emblems....:D

ChipR4cam
01-27-2006, 09:24 AM
I don't think the stripe is that bad. If it's been on there a long time and you take it off you'll just have a darker black stripe under anyways. Leave it til the car gets painted. Looks like you have a really nice starting point for a project. I've always liked black GTs.

89 Hoss

where is the air silencer? So far we have the cold air system and the mac x-pipe w/ flowmasters in process. I have to get some wires from ford racing, springs and the quick shift here in the near future. Need a line on some interior pieces any ideas?

today's project: stripe removal, just about all I can do right now till some parts start rolling in. Paint really not bad, know one really took time to prep the car. I can't wait till the exhaust gets here it is way too quiet and leaky. As for the snake I know it has got to go but they stuck it on there pretty good so that my have to wait a little bit

If I could afford an 03 with 441 horses I probably would not be as easily satisfied with these cheaper projects. This is pretty fun just learning of all the history and all the people who really enjoy there cars. I know I maybe pretty weird but here are some more pics with project restore with its younger brother onedirtybluegt. By the way stripe project is complete. Cobra was put on with some kind of epoxy and I am going to have to wait till I can afford to get the car painted so to all you cobra owners I did not do it sorry. I think it is pretty tacky myself, but I have to bare with it for now.

1) Why do you want to remove the A/C? There is absolutley no power/performance gain from doing so?

2) You don't need an electric fan yet

3) Mass air is a sensor on the intake tract. Its right passed the air box.

Sorry Lee and Brian forgot to give the update. Last weekend we installed the bauman engineering shift kit and the b and m shifter. The weekend before we installed 3:73 gears and oh booooy what a difference. Car feels real good and like a mustang should. There are a lot of different avenues to go now and the door is open to advice as far as future mods for me to consult the masters of stang. I appreciate all the feedback and thank streetstangs for helping me with my car thanks everyone, later dudes.:metal:
