How much extra power do you guys think the 6psi powerdyne would add to a 310 rwhp 89gt with h/ci/i, about 30% to the wheels?

We have 1 car in our stable that has the 6 psi powerdyne, It has AFR 185 heads and a Comp Blower grind cam. Cobra computer, 373 gears,Mac ex. We dont have dyno or gtech numbers, But on drag radials the car has went 8.0s with good traction. It is a full body car with no weight removed. Hope this will help

I have a 9psi setup which actually sees 6psi on the guage. I am estimating my HP at 400 to the wheels. This was with a 306 HP N/A setup.

Why not go with something like a D1 or Novi 2000, but pulley it for low boost until you're ready to turn up the heat? I'm guessing you're looking at a 6 psi setup due to the strength (or lack thereof) or your shortblock?

Powerdyne is a nice quiet blower. I would say it would give you about 80 hp at the wheels.

I am willing to bet that the 6 psi rating is for a stock motor, so you are going to see 6 psi on a h/c/i swapped car. I would go with the 9 psi setup at least.

I was looking at the powerdyne because its only $1600 for the 6psi unit. Can that unit be pullied to 9psi and not effect the life of the supercharger?

It is the same charger. It is the BD-11. I have heard people putting the 11psi pully on it. Powerdyne will not warrenty the charger with the 11psi. The 11psi pully will exceed the bearing capabilities.

So I could put the 9psi pulley on it, or what about changing the pulley on the crank?

i have seen 450rwhp on a H/C/I 302 with a powerdyne....it was pullied for 11psi but read 15psi on the gauge under extreme driving conditions...i would try and find an old a trim or s trim kit

The crank pully is another way to do the same thing. I have seen a 9psi pully and a 7 in crank make 12psi and it is still under warranty kinda.

The tamper proof lock tight is on the S/C pully. Powerdyne does not know which crank pully you have unless you tell them. Although this is not ethical.
