for a 2200 lb 2 seater. I am looking for a 350 rwhp N/A EFI 5.0 (out of a 89-93) or a 400 rwhp EFI N/A 5.8 and I am on a BUDGET, but I want to do it right! I need suggestions on heads, cams (nothing radical), intake, etc. Right now I am thinking of getting a 5.0 crate motor from Ford Racing.

Hmmm, 2200 lbs 2 seater, sounds like a Cobra.

I would recommend you look at doing the 351 with aluminum heads.
From the people that I have talked to that have Cobras, they all say that the little extra wieght over the front makes it feel better at high speeds, plus you get so much more torque out of the 351.
Doesn't Ford sell a good 351, like 385 HP create motor (with AL heads) I think it comes with everything minus the carb and headers.

I vote a 331 shortblock with pistons flycut for trickflow heads and if you are keeping fuel injection, use the trickflow topend kit you can get out of summit for $2100 or so.

If you are going the trickflow route (topend kit or not) pm me for pricing. Should be able to help you out a good bit

try and talk around a bit with current Cobra drivers and see what they like, I really am voting for the 351 based motor.

i too would do a 351 based engine.find a late model 351w roller block.bore it .030 put in some good 10.5:1 pistons with stock crank and rods.put on some good heads like an AFR 205 with a custom grind hyd roller cam and a trick flow intake and it should make some power.

whose brand cobra are you using? I have been looking at ffr's and thinking about getting one of their donor kits.

If I build one it will be a FFR:metal:

I'm all about the FFR Daytona Coupe. Saw one in KC this past summer. Very sweet up close.
