I stumbled on this intake while browsing through Ford's Racing Parts websites and noticed its similarities with the Aviator intake. If I'm not mistaken this "type" of intake is also used on the 5.0L Cammer motor.

INTAKE KIT ENGINE MANAGEMENT COMPUTER (http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=6525) (Required for 96-97 Cobra's)

I'm interested to see some dyno numbers and/or a comparison with the popular short runner intake modifications. I know this isn't a "cure all" for the B-Heads low end short comings, but if it increases low end torque up to at least a Mach 1 level then its worth a look. (if it can be had significantly cheaper than the retail pricing on the website!) Without making the comparison of Apples to Wing Nuts, how does the torque curve of the Aviator compare to the B-Headed Cobra. (I know they are different animals, just looking for "its got a decent bottom end" type of response). Any downfalls to this intake?

That's been in the FRPP catalog for about 3 years now.

Where did I say it was new?

I usually don't go to the FRPP catalog looking for parts. :slap:

I didnt think you could use that on B heads. Thought it only worked on 99+ tumble port heads.

Only the Aviator intake will work with C-Heads, this is designed specifically for the B-Head cars.

That one is specifically for 96-98 B-heads but they do make a FR500 intake that looks very similar to that for the 99-up 4v heads. When I first posted I thought it was the FR500 intake because I didn't read the description.

I stand corrected. Was not aware they made it to fit our head design! That rocks though!!!

Nathan, any more news on making your own shortrunner? I would really love to pursue this option as JIMS SVT on mod depot had hella gains from it.

Yeah, if I could find a intake for sale WITHIN REASON!. $350 is way to much, IMO.

yeah the cheapest one I found about 4 months ago when I had some spare money was like $450. I've got Doug keeping tabs with his friend that owns Astro Auto Parts and if they get a 96-98 in to let me know how much they want for the intake ( U & L )

Good luck!!! The only ones you'll find for less than that are gonna be missing the runners.
