OK, This is a long story but I'll cut it short. For the last 2 weeks I've been looking for a serpentine belt.. I've tried 10 different belts & a se of underdrive pulleys. I can't find one that fits.

Heres the before:

The car had a 6 rib charger uplley. Stock Tensioner, A/C, PS, Crank & Alternator pulleys along with the Smog delete pulley. That belt fit fine.

Heres where I am now:

I upgraded to a 10 rib charger pulley set up. The crank pulley is a 1 piece. (the stock 6 rib crank & the 10 rib charger) The 6 rib on the crank is a little smaller in diameter that the stock pulley. Then I remover the A/C & installed the Ford A/C delete bracket. (Moves the P/S up where the A/C was)
I went through all the sizes from 81" to 85 1/2" I could not find one that would fit. Today I went out & bought a Ford underdrive pulley set. I thought if I use the water pump & or alternator pulley, it would be easier to find a belt. Well.. NONE of them would work with the underdrive pulleys. So I put the stock pulleys back on & tried to wedge on an 81 1/2" belt. It was so small, I had to hold it on the P/S pulley & someone have to crank the car over to slip it on. It all looked good until I released the tensioner. It now hits the water pump pulley. Check out the pics.. What's wrong here??? Is the tensioner bad?? There is no way you can put a smaller belt on it..

re-clock the tensioner and put the stock water pump pulley back on it.

Or move your P/S back down and order the other A/C delete kit that moves your tensioner over the were the A/C compressor sat. Thats how I had to do mine.

you could buy a smaller diameter tensioner pulley to buy you a little more clearance.... i had to go larger on my car to keep the belts from slipping as the exact size i need wasn't available anywhere....

This is what I had to do on the '95 when I put U/D pullies on it.
The idlar pulley and the water pump pulley were nearly touching, I bought a slightly smaller idlar pulley and it got me around 1/2" + of clearance.

Just go to a Napa or other parts store and look through the different pullies they have.

I had to reclock the tensioner and move the tensioner closer to the AC compressor on one car.

Glad you got it sorted out!
