How is this done? Wideband is installed and functioning.

I know you use the data q in line before the laptop but I am unsure how it all goes together.

In addition to Lee's question... can the TwEECer R/T use the USB version of the DataQ? I remember reading something on the TwEECer forums a while back that said it would only work with the COM port version.

Neither my nor Lee's laptop have DB-type serial ports, so this is possibly going to be an issue.

Do not have a lot of time but will look for the brand of adapter that you need for the usb/serial problem an post later. I have added in a short snipit from Joshua's website that may help on somethings. Of course he uses a PLX on his but the priciple will be about the same....

The usb version of the dataq still does not work with the TwEECer as far as I know. I bet you could drop Mike Glover an email and he would answer this question for sure.......:jester:

The TwEECer software will also interface with an external datalogger to log external signals in the same logfile as the logged EEC parameters, such as a wideband (WB) O2 sensor and a MAP sensor, and now a G-force sensor on our Performance page ( http://www.plxdevices.com/Gsensor2Axis.htm ), as well as an AutoMeter full sweep fuel pressure gauge, or even just volts. These loggers are purchased from DataQ for $25 and plug into the laptop via the COM port. http://www.dataq.com/194.htm

http://www.shonutperformance.com/DataQ_Settings.gif - correct settings for the DataQ and a PLX WB. NOTE – when enabling DataQ, you may have to make the changes, then close CalCon BEFORE you try to log, and then re-open before trying to log. If you don’t, sometimes you will get an error when you try to log without saving the changes first by closing the program.

For a PLX WB, connect the black PLX wire to the ground terminal on the DataQ (as well as your power ground), and connect the white wire to Channel 1 on the DataQ.

NOTE – do NOT install the DataQ software unless you need to use it for looking at signals other than what comes from your WB. Doing so will over-write the CalCon UltimaSerial drivers with trial ones, so that you get this message - http://www.shonutperformance.com/UltimaSerial.gif

If you have done this, download this update and install the two .exe’s inside in order:

We are one of the mods of the software section of the TwEECer BB, and have written a few key posts and posted relevant info, such as:

http://tweecer.oplnk.net/viewtopic.php?t=2255 - 1.30x Datalogging instructions

Will post some more things later when I have more time or just get Lee F. to call me sometime next week.

Edit- Ok here is one of the links that I was thinking of for the usb/serial adapter.
It will add one serial port for the dataq to work with Calcon.
