I believe my oil pan is cracked the reason I say this is because when I changed the oil I noticed a oil leak witch I thought was coming from the oil plug but after the oil change I got to noticeing that it looked like it was coming out just to the right of the plug and above it about an 1/2 an inch. So my ??? is has anyone tried to weld a pan up before with it still on the car it is an after market pan but I don't know what type it is but if I have to pull it off I will just buy another one to replace it because I don't like to do thing's twice. Thanks Steven

I have welded up oil pans on the car. It just depends on how easy it is to get to the hole or crack. Oil has to be drained and welder turned down low. Keep both plugs pulled when welding and DON"T stand in front of the drain holes. Sometimes it will ignite the gases in the pan a blow threw the drain plugs which in turn burns the crap out of ya.

If nothing else you could try just a little bit of JB weld to hold it. If its not a big leak it should be sufficient.
