I’m looking at torque converters as suggested to me in this thread - http://www.streetstangs.net/showthread.php?t=8303

So, I have a few questions.

First, does anyone have a copy of the 1993 Ford AOD Mustang torque converter K curve? I’d like a reference point to compare to various aftermarket converters.

What are some quality brands/models I should investigate?

I believe that quote can be attributed to Grandpa Simpson.

PTC is up near Florence/Mussel Shoals. They do nice work.
Some other brands are PI (Precision Industries), ATI, , TCI, and Art Carr. You can also upgrade to the 1-piece input shaft during the work, but you will loose the lockup feature (gas-mileage will suffer) and will have to get the converter accordingly. Or, you can drop the trans off at a shop and tell them to add clutches, put better servos in, install the shift-kit (or a valve body), and freshen up with clutches, etc... I think you could get out with a nicely built AOD for around $750.
