This the way the car started after it was fixed. I had to replace the k member, right side arm, right fender, front bumper and do some pulling on the frame. It was completely stock when it was finished

I done most of the motor mods all at the same time. The blower is a stage 3 port with ported plenum and tb. Upper and lower pullies with reichard idlers. The intake is JLT rai. Fuel system is stock other than a bap.

Exhaust wise I went with bbk longtubes, bbk o/r h pipe and flowmasters welded into the stock exhaust.

Suspension is eibach sport springs with an billetflow irs brace in the rear. Weld prostars are for the track and extra bling

Decided to take some more pics of the parts while I was installing them as well. Clutch is a spec stage 3+. Matt hooked me up with a good deal on it. Flywheel is a fidanza aluminum

:shake:

I take it you don't hang out on SVTP much. IIRC, Sambandit's car still has IRS. He is putting down almost 800 rwhp and launching on slicks. The IRS isn't as weak as people make it out to be. With the right springs and shocks it's plenty strong.

rtusnake

You must not remember what the ride quality is like with a live axle. Not to mention it is a whole lot easier to replace a halfshaft than it is an axle when it breaks.

Live axle is not going to make you any faster.

:werd: I can't think of a single reason to get rid of an IRS unless you're concerned with making it a lighter (I believe it's something like 100 pounds heavier), but if you're that concerned with weight you've probably gone to a tubular K member, minimalist interior, etc and the streetability is going out the window anyway.

Going to try one more set of halfshafts when they come out. Strange is making them. If those break to I will do a solid. The ones above had a 300m chromoly center bar and it broke as well

Every dss axle I have seen that broke looked like mine. I believe the owner even said at one time they had a problem with their heat treating. Maybe thats the reason for the straight break.
