nasty noise

ive had this problem since i got this 5.0 its a 91 vert virtually stock w/ stock gears and rear end well when i got it it had this nasty roaring coming from the trear end it sounds like its in sync w/ the axels well iwent and got some lucas dope and a local shop filled it for me they said it was really low on dope well it helped but didnt cure it i dont know how the dope was low but it was i have no leaks or oil spots in the driveway and need to get this fixed im not sure if it has the 8.8 but i know it has a automatic locker from the factory. and if your near oxford and can diagnose this ill take you for a ride to let you hear it

If it was low on fluid it probably toasted the pinion bearing (if not all bearings)

the backlash can be off to!! I would definetly check that, I have seen that alot!!!!

well where can i get a kit that would have all the bearings in it i cant seem to find a rebuild kit all i can find is a gear install kit

Looks like it has carrier bearings and pinion bearing. It could be any of those...also an outer axle bearing. My money's on a bearing.
