OK I know my car weighes a TON (actually 2). But I keep reading that after a T-5 swap I have to baby the car because It is so heavy. But if the SN-95 cars weigh around 3600 and my car weighs 4000 do I really have to baby a stock T5?

SN95 cars are not 3600. Maybe a convertible with a big stereo system and two batteries, etc...but on average, they're around 3100-3300.

As long as you're not abusive, your land-yacht shouldn't give your T5 any problems.

I always thought that was why my 98 was so slow

Everything I have always read showed the 94-98 GTs to average around 3500. My cobra with welds on the rear and no driver weighs in at 3350 with a 1/4 tank of gas.

I know the 95-96 GTS's weighed less than a normal GT

I think alot of the weight discrepencies come from the fact that most people weight their cars on scales designed for the 20,000-80,000 pound range...And they are probably certified as such...I wonder what their deviation is at 3000-4000 pounds. A couple hundred pounds here or there would not affect much at 40,000.

4-corner scaling might be more accurate. SLVRBULLIT weighed his 95 GTS and it was like 3200 full weight too. He can better attest to the weights of these cars.

Assuming this is without driver, then my coupe weighed in less at 3090 with the heavy Cobra-R wheels, iron heads, and 3/4 tank of gas.... I think my luggage was in the trunk too. :D

This was weighed at the Atlanta Dragway a few years ago -- I think their scales should be accurate and correctly rated. ;)

Mine was weighed at Commerce as well.

Coupe, the GTS cars weigh a good bit less than the GT's from the same era. Their weight savings is due to lack of options, harnesses, and sound deadener

that car was a full interior car.nothing stripped out of it...yes it did not have power steering or a/c but those were the only two items missing from under the hood.

my newest creation has no air or power steering either so i guess its not a streetcar

I weighed the coupe and was 3050 with a 3/4 tank of gas swapped all drivetrain to the vert and ended up with 3300 on a full tank of gas. Both have a/c and p/s, without driver.

I broke 3 T-5's in my Lincoln, but I had some power too. I have put them in other cars and they were fine.

And go weigh your car. Don't assume it's 4000#.
