I was told that I can fit a 28 inch tall tire under my car and was also told to use a 10 inch wheel with a 6.5 back space. He said I might have to massage a few spots with a hammer but it will fit and not rub. The ? I have is has anyone ran a 28 on a fox and with what back spacing did you use. A friend has a wheel he is going to bring over tomorrow that is a 10 inch wheel with a 6.5 back space but I thought I would post here to see if anyone has run this combo before. Thanks for ya's help Steven

I think Edgar runs 28's.

I run 27's on mine and it has around 1" lower spring on the back. It scrubs the slick when going over bumps and if I have anybody in the back seat. I only run a 8" wheel though

I wonder what back space he used ? Did he run a 28 before he mini tubed it or after??

He had the 28's before. I remember him showing me one time at the dyno where they rubbed the rocker panel when they expanded. Maybe he will chime in and give more information.

FWIW.

i have 15x9's with a 5.5" BS and i run either a 28x9 et drag or a 275/60 drag radial.other than rolling the lips on the quarters everything works great.if the car is super low then they will more than likely scrub a little

I had a set of 275 60 15 DR on the wheels when I got the coupe but when I put them on the car the tires was sitting on the fender wells. It cut the tires but only had a 15x8 wheel with 5.5 back spacing.I was told that that was the reason it scrubed it only being a 8 inch wheel made the tires bulge out instead of widening out is that true??? Was also told that the car could have 94 or 95 axles in it that are a little longer witch would make the tires and wheels stick out a little to much. I picked up a set of wheels today that are 15x10 with a 6.5 back space and am going to go have some 275x60 15 DR put on them tomorrow to see if they fit.

mine rubbed a little until i rolled the fenders.you could also run a 275/50.it is a little shorter tire

The 275 60 15 with a 10" rim and 6.5 back spacing is perfect. First thing you need to do, roll the lip on the fender or, get a 4" grinder and grind down the lip up to about a 1/4" is left, you will nedd to massage the iner fenders, meaning by the coil at the back of the wheel well and at the front inside of the wheel wel too. If you want to use a 28" slick do the same thing, but you will need a 1/4" spacer if the axles are the stock ones, if they are from SN95 then you don't need them, you probably will need them for the Drag Radials. Do not get the 275 50s you will never hook with the power that your car has, the tire is to short.

The car's lip was already rolled but when I put the wheels on the very top of the 1/4 was almost sitting on the tire and when you pushed on the rear of the car it would sit on the tire. Come to find out the car had Lakewood traction bars( see attachment) and it was set all the way down. So the car was lowered alot witch is why they scrubbed . So now I have taken the brakets off and the car raised about 2 inches so maybe it will work now. Will inform ya'll later. Thanks for the help Steven

well it will not load the pics for this set up they are to big but I will take a pic of them and post later

They are called LAKEWOOD " TRACTION....ACTION" LIFT BARS PART # 21900
