Anyone have one? Are they noisy and how well do they shift for putting around town?

I believe Stephen is the only one on this site that runs one. However, his has straight cut gears and dog-rings instead of synchros.

Stephen Johnson has one. I hear good things as far as drivability. After all, it's still hard to beat a T5 for smoothness. Some of the Gforce units seem to hold big power, some tend to have issues, kinda like the Tremecs. :(

It really boils down to what setup you get as far as internals. Some are more race than street.

Brian, Have you priced the parts for that setup? Sure would be nice!

I thought Stephen had one. Maybe he will see this and give his opinion. What he has is what i got the questions about.

I like it...mine isnt that bad to drive everyday. I dont drive it everyday but I could. I have never had a problem shifting at rpms I shift mine at 7k. If you miss a gear in this tranny, you NEED a auto. I have the face-tooth, straight cut gearset.

What about gear whine? Can you still have a conversation with out yelling to your passenger? And was there any major mod to the trans case? You wouldn't by chance have the car back together would ya? I'm looking into the kit and also a friend is thinking of it too, we just want to know for sure before the purchase. Thanks in advance.

I built one with the regular gears and syncros, It does fine and no more gear whine than a stock T-5. This car is pretty much stock other than a set of gears and cam. I have not heard from this guy for awhile, but im sure if there were a problem he would have gotten in touch.
