hey guys i have been gone for a week but back home for few days. time to get back to budget project again and have a question. does any know how a compucam 2040 will react or its characteristics will be retarded 4 or advanced 4 with a fresh 89 302 with 72 cnc ported 302 heads rpm intake 730 race demon with 1.6 crane rollers. i know this is same cam as e303 just wondering how it will perform got it at a deal and want to use it in budget build. ps this engine will see 150 shot. thanks

That maybe a good question for Crane tech. I have never fooled around with retarding or advancing any of my cams.
I know a few on here have played with cam timing, hopefully they will post up their results

Advancing cam timing will bring your power in earlier good for boosted motors. Retarding the cam moves the power band up in rpms good for the little motors that need the rpms behind them. I beleive thats right Some let me know if I've got it backwards.

Check the cam card most of the cams now days have some advancing built in.

I have an e cam that is retarded 4 degrees.car works good.makes good power as well.
