weird tranny noise

ok so i was on my way home from work when i noticed something. I first noticed in 5th gear on the highway, when i let off the gas...it sounds like something is hitting/kinda sounds like some kinda chatter of two things hitting or some deal. Anybody have any idea what this sounds like?

Rear control arms loose? That will make a "knock" sound when you unload or load the car's rear suspension.

Is it the tranny or possible driveshaft slop

buddy and I just looked and it looked like the X pipe is rattling off the frame hmm
