hey wats up, my names joe, i have a 1990 mustang 5.0 5speed...i recently went with a spec stage 2 clutch. I drove the car for about 800 miles with the new clutch and now when i step on the clutch pedal, it makes a clicking noise almost like when you have a loose rocker..it goes away once and a while but comes back....i put the throw out bearing that came with the clutch set...it felt cheap...im wondering if that could be it? thanks in advance

is it a squeal or a chirping? any drivability issues as far as putting the car into gear or shifting?

its a little harder to put into 1st gear...its a clicking like a loose rocker...thats what i thought it was at first....then i released the clutch and it was gone...then when i pushed the clutch in, there the noise was again...

might be a dumb ? but are you sure you put the plate on in the right direction? that can cause issues and still seem to be in working order. just a thought

the retainer(clutch fork) was iffy...if i had known i would of put a new one in but i didnt have one at the time....it held the bearing nice and tight...but now the car wont make the clicking noise...now it is a smooth as ever...it did it a little this morning then nothing...then after work...nothing...we shall see...thank you guys for the input...much appreciated...much better than other forums...:metal:

the retainer(clutch fork) was iffy...
We has asking about your bearing retainer on the transmission (metal tube that the t/o bearing slides on).

well it wasnt the bearing....wasnt the retainer...it was the flywheel hitting the starter...shimmed the starter good as new...and thats a long story short...lol

You shimmed the starter?? Something is off or wrong in there. I have never heard of anyone shimming a starter on a mustang

tell me about it...but theres no vibrations or anything....the starter is a nastra starter(i sell them at work) and a few have come back with people saying the flywheel is hitting them making noise...but who knows...maybe the fly wheel teeth are coming off...i have no idea...but its making no noise now, and its smoother than ever...so i donno
