Will a 140 MPH speedo from an 89 plug and work in a 87 GT?

87 threw early 91 (none air bag) will be a plug and play, You can use a air bag one but you have to swap wires in the connetor.

I bought a 140 cluster from alabama mustang about 3 or 4 years ago,they SAID it was from an 89,turned out it was from a 92!,sooo,it would'nt fit in the dash right,and I ended up taking all the internals and swapping them,the little alignment posts on the housing did not match the line up holes on the gauges,sooo,about 3 hours of modification soon followed!

being a 87 model, it probably has the factory 85 mph cluster

yeppers!,the only 87-88's that had otherwise were the SSP's

Yes, It has the 85MPH cluster. It is also a little messed up.
