Nasty exhaust tips
Ok, so the only thing that I've found that will get my exhaust tips clean is an SOS pad. But I'm tired of getting steel wool in my finger tips. Any ideas?

Re: Nasty exhaust tips
WAX them after you clean them and they will come clean easier. or just cut them off and run DUMPS.

:jester: Have you tried Mothers' Metal Polish? Works well on Jeanne's car. |
Re: Nasty exhaust tips
Try out Eagle One or Billy Boat wadding polish. That stuff works wonders! Then I would wax the tips after.

:hmm: I think I'll give some metal polish a try. Thanks for the help guys. Except 96GTS - you can eat a wiener. :poke:

dump them.........then it doesnt matter how clean they are. :jester:
seriously i hate pipes for that reason. i have used metal polish and works pretty well, but i am not sure there is a really good way. steal wool really does suck. :notnice: |
Re: Nasty exhaust tips
I shine mine with Zaino Brothers polish. It is the same stuff I use on my wheels. Makes them very shiny.

I have cats and depending how much I flog it, I can get some soot on the tips as well. His tune may be a little rich. Mine is 10:1 at 5000rpm. Mine is definitely worse during the winter(colder temps) though I think. |
