first datalog of new turbo combo
got a log of an idle situation....I'm trying to get this dialed in. I realized I messed up and didn't datalog some parameters I should have...I'm going to try and get another tomorrow with all the right things in the payload but until then...if anyone can take a look at this and give me some ideas I would appreciate it......It 'looks' like idle AFR is hitting 18 and sometimes 19!!! YIKES!!!!

apparently I can't post a datalog... since they're CSV. files hmmm

I think something was up with the computer (A9P) so I swapped in a C3W I had laying around. I will try to see if I can get a log tomorrow.... I'll see if I can attach it as something else. Brad |
still trying to get this going, I haven't had much time to work on this and things are still hokey with the AFR in the 15-17's!!!!! Commanded is around 13 and some change, I think...SOOOOOO I'm thinking I need to get it some more fuel???

Make sure you don't have a vac leak. Getting the LAMBSES to match what the WB is seeing is definitely first.
|
ya, that's what I've been reading about...just trying to figure out what to adjust to get my AFR (15-17) to match the LAMBSE of 12-13
|
One other thing, make sure you don't have an exhaust leak as it will give false readings too. Is the AFR you are seeing on the gauge or in EA? If it's in EA make sure you have the offset set correctly for the type WB you are using.
If all that checks you can either adjust the fuel table or the MAF curve to get it to matche commanded AFR. Oh and be sure you force open loop while doing all of this and clear KAMREF. |
I've got a LC-1 wired into the computer (eec) through the pin for the egr, and I've also got it where I can just use a serial cable. I'm viewing all this in BE and EA.
There is a SMALL and I mean small exhaust leak on the PS (one of header bolts is stripped out and I couldn't get it to seal ALL the way. Hopefully that wont make a HUGE difference in the AFR. The other thing I was thinking about was when I set up the LC-1 it has where you can set it for GAS (14.7) or E-10 (14.08)....and I set it for 14.08 cause on almost ALL the pumps around here they state that it "may contain up to 10%ethanol)....Am I wrong by putting that in that field? (14.08) I'm going to try and load a tune with it set to 14.7 and see what difference that makes. |
There are several good threads on eectuning that talk about setting it to E-10 personally I don't see the need on pump gas because the blend changes a couple of times a year and you never really know.
IMO the exhaust leak even though small will be an issue simply because you have no way of knowing how much oxygen it's letting in the exhaust stream and how much of it is saturating the WB. As it goes through several heat cycles this amount will change. An exhaust leak never gets better on it's own only worse over time. You said you have the WB tapped into the EGR pin, is it on the ECM itself or are you tapped at the other end? It really needs to be at the ECM so that the signal doesn't degrade from resistance due to wire length. |
