A/C clutch not working....
the electric clutch isn`t working on my 2.3 ....if any body can tell me the easiest way to check it it would be appreciatted...want to keep the air but don`t know how well it works the pump itself will turn by hand so...
any help would be great thanks |
Have you checked the pressure on the A/C?,if it's too low the pressure switch won't kick the A/C clutch on.
so the best way is put the gauges on it..?
:yup:
ok the pressure switch is on the drier ...right ? and if I jump that with the key on ac switched on it should make the clutch engage ....is this correct
Yep,that would be correct!
ok the clutch did not engage when I did this .....any more thoughts
I need a d*** service manual for this thing ....a wiring diagram would really help!!!!!!
the engine must be running for the clutch to engage...not just key on.
if it doesn't engage then, check with a test light (with the engine still running and switch jumped) to see if the clutch is getting power at the harness. If it is, then most likely the clutch coil is burned up and you need a clutch. If it's not, it's something electrical...hope this helps some. |
ok guys I think I have a grip on it some what I`m not going to try it tonight ..but will give it a go in the morning I have a suspicion its low though but want to check the obvious first
