2016 Camaro SS
 

I traded my 2009 Corvette Z06 in last week. Bought this 2016 Camaro SS. GM really did a nice job on the 6th generation Camaro. ALL new everything and lighter than the 2010-2015 5th gen cars.
I went out of my normal and got a white car instead of my usual red or dark colors and I also got the 8 speed automatic instead of a 6 speed manual.

I have almost 400 miles on it now and enjoying it very much.

going to keep this one VERY STOCK as far as powertrain goes. I need to keep the warranty intact on this one !!!!

but I will of course be doing some cosmetic mods and give it my personal touch.

LOL, well look at the Vette, I did a lot of cosmetic mods...But the only thing I did was ported heads (to correct a factory dropping valve defect so I didn't have to replace the $15,000 engine if it dropped a valve) a tune and I build a custom muffler setup.

Sooooo it is possible for me to keep the powertrain completely stock... I hope..LMAO

I plasti-dipped the wheels, front bowtie, and a strip between the tail lights before I even had the car 24 hours :jester:

Man, not that it looks bad with the plastidip wheels but it looked really good with the Polish finish against the white

I agree Lee, but im a black wheel kinda guy. lol

Now the car has 1.5" lowering springs new alignment and smoked sidemarkers. Going to get the windows tinted today :banana:

I would love to eventually, but I am still struggling financially right now from my divorce back in November. I removed a lot of the aftermarket stuff from my Z06 and sold that stuff...that's how I am able to do the cosmetic mods that I have done so far to the SS.

Wheels and tires are not in the budget for a while, maybe after I sell my house I can. I would really like to put the same ones I had on my 2010 SS. TSW Nurburgring Wheels Matte Gunmetal 22x9 front –22x10.5 rear

Well I got a couple of bills under control and decided to go ahead and get the wheels that i have had my eye on for a while.

they are 2014 - 2015 Camaro Z28 wheels, Graphite color 20x10 front 20x11 rear with Mickey Thompson Street Comp 275/35 front and 305/35 rears.

This wheel and tire combo is 1.5" wider front and rear than what came on the car. original was 245 fronts and 275 rears. Pics dont do it justice, it looks much better in person and much more aggressive looking with the extra width.:banana:

AFTER:

Atlanta Custom Wraps did an amazing job on my car. I had them wrap it in Satin Pearl Nero with Satin Carbon Fiber wrapped roof.
Its like having a new car again.

Changed out the rear spoiler to an Anderson Composites carbon fiber spoiler with a carbon fiber wicker bill.
Also installed some Oracle “concept style” LED side marker lights.

Nice, what's the weight on the spoiler?

You finally have a vehicle that looks better than the red lightning did. Very clean and mean.

not sure, its much bigger than the stock spoiler so the weight is prob about the same as the stock one.

Yeah I went to work at VR for a week to see how well i like it. The owner has been trying to get me to come work for him for about 5 years now.

How you liking it so far?

Awesome place to work for, very organized, scheduled, clean, professional, and they build the most awesome LSX and LTX vehicles in the country.

Added a new front splitter this week. Its a exact replica of the Camaro 1LE splitter. Hopefully get the bowtie delete upper grille and side rockers in a couple of months. And maybe one day I can get the hood I want but its EXPENSIVE

I installed my new MP Concepts side rockers and put my Z28 wheels back on ( I was running the stockers for a while )
I cant say it was fun installing them in the dirt and getting rained on, i miss having a shop and a lift..but oh well..lol

Now just waiting for my Anderson Composites hood to arrive and my exterior mods will just about be finished up.

yeah , I got banged up a little. all side curtain airbags deployed.

A speeding Tahoe hit me on the pass side and knocked me into a car sitting at a stop sign.

Took a hard hit there. Glad it wasn’t worse. What’s the replacement plan?

I bought a 2019 Camaro SS with the 2 SS package last friday. :)
cheaper payment, longer warranty, so maybe this was a blessing in disguise.

Im supposed to be getting all my custom parts back off the 16 any day now. and they all fit the 19.

I will start a new thread for it.
