More progress and parts. Installed rsd, 98 console, aluminum driveshaft. Also lower intake, seats, brakes, steering, and new heads cam in. Also pulled a 4r70 at pull a part today.

Wait, I thought this was your DD? That's a manual steering rack, isn't it? O_o That's more hardcore than I'd want in a street car...and this is coming from a guy with stiffer than prom night race car suspension. :D

Manual racks aren't that bad on the street. It sucks to turn while standing still, but even going a couple mph, it's pretty easy to turn.
It's nothing like a power rack after removing the belt. That's a bitch because in addition to turning the wheels, you're also having to force fluid though the lines. Also, the ratio is a bit lower for the manual rack too. |
My grandfather had a mid 80's Escort Pony with manual steering, and that's the car I learned to drive a manual in. It was a bitch at low speed (which was the only speed it would go :lol: ), but being FWD may have made it worse.

Started getting some prep work done to get the motor ready to pull. That way I will have two mustangs that don't run :jester:
