would like to get around 300hp to the wheels
Hi everyone. I would like to get somewhere around 300 or more hp to the wheels of my newest project. My current ride is a ranger, pretty much all stock. Has t3 pushing 20psi, 35#injectors, stock 5.0 throttle body, ranger roller cam, front mount intercooler, and around 43psi fuel pressure. It made 235 to the rear wheels with 12 deg. of timing and 110 race fuel.
Now on to the new project. It is a 93 notchback. Goin gto be similar. Stock botom end and head. Ranger roller cam, 35#injectors, big VAM, front mount intercooler. Bt im going to be using a Holset hx35w, a custom upper and gutted lower intake, and a 75mm throttle body. How much change can i expect from these upgrades? i am planning on doing a maf coversion soon so i can run bigger injectors. |
not much maybe fifty at the best. it depends on boost pressure.

boost will be the same. But the holset will flow a lot more air and will make the boost more efficiant. For example, the t3 is doing 20 psi now, but i can tell that it has more torque around 15 or so. The power actually slows at around 18psi. The holset is bigger, and designed to flow 20psi all the time, so it should move the ait better and create less heat in the cylinders, or that is what i hope anyway.

i would try to get some bigger injectors in that thing. turn the boost up to about 30 lbs and rock!:metal:

Do 3" exhaust from the turbo back. Good header will help a lot too. Little work to the head on the exhaust side and do a tune. You will want larger injectors when you start tuning. Those few things will get you there. If everything is running well to begin with.
I'm just working of MPG for now. |
what size injectors should i try to get? 42#, or bigger. Will the stock short block hold anything past 20psi, ive never been past that point so i dont know.
