Boost?

331 10.7.1 e205 heads and a f cam. Thinking it's around 350 ish now. Found a deal on a blower. What will 5-6 psi be like?

What will it be like? Fun, lots of fun.

Not as good as 15psi would feel :D

I know the tq will go way up. Just wondering if I will be pushing the stock block to much?... the engine made 406 hp 364 tq with a 600/600 cam and a Victor intake. I went f cam and rpm air gap.

Boost is going to be easier on the block than nitrous, unless you have a progressive controller, as it comes on a bit more gradually.

Stock block doesn't have a magic hp number, it's all in the tune.

stock block?
Its been awhile since I have been in the game but if I recall correctly, you can count on 15hp per 1psi of boost.
What type of blower are you looking at?
On my 93 cobra, I picked up 230 rwhp with 15 psi.

Are you making 406 at the tires or the engine?

SlowJoe 07-13-2017 10:49 AM

That was at the tire. It's a older vortex.

QWKSNKE 07-15-2017 07:24 AM

If your compression is 10.7, 5-6 psi will be a nice little pick up in power.

Sorry it has a x cam
