ok what the hell

ok, switching my car to a 5spd....exactly what tranny will fit...87-93? 94-95 specific? im getting tired of people trying to pass 87-93 trannys off on me without answering if it will fit...please help

If I recall correctly, the 94-95 T-5's have a longer input shaft. So to answer your question, no a 87-93 will not work in a SN-95 chassis. You'll also need a 94-95 specific bellhousing too.

You are correct Sir. If you want a simple bolt in, you have to have a 94-95 t5 and housing. However, you CAN make a fox t5 to work I believe. I think Jase had a fox t5 in this 94 for a while. Not sure what was done to make it work in his car though.

In order to make a fox t-5 fit you will need a fox bell housing.

dylan020 12-20-2006 04:49 PM

sooooo you CAN use a fox, but you just need a longer input shaft?

yup, shifter, jus sits a lil further in the tunnel.. ran it for a couple of weeks when my t5 took a shit..no difference. except the grinn from gettin sideways for the first time in a new 5spd..

You can check D&D Performance, they have a lot of info on T-5's

Also they have the 94-95 rebuilt for $995. I think this has some upgrades in it, go check it out.

damn, these things are hard as hell to find used! already checked corral.net and stangnet.com....NOTHING! lol

just use a fox t5 and bellhousing and get a driveshaft spacer from UPR.the shifter will sit a little forward but you can make yourself a custom handle to set it back.

Why not keep it simple and just switch out the input shaft if he gets a fox t-5
