95 Mustang Cam help
I am new here, i am thinking about buying a 95 mustang gt Here are the mods it has trickflow upper and lower intake,65mm tb,mass air,24lb injectors,walbro 255 fuel pump,high torque starter,200 amp high output alternator,3.73 posi rear end,lowered 1in., ac and heat work perfect! no cats,3in x-pipe,flows dumped,mil eliminators,496 lift cam,roller rockers,short throw shifter,underdrive pulley's along with new parts like a Aluminum radiator,high flow water pump,alternator 200 amp,high torque starter,msd ignition coil,wires,plugs,cap,rotor,fuel pump,fuel filter,belt,all hoses.
Now much bigger is the 496 lift can than stock and having no cats will it pass emissions without them or will i have to install cats? Also will it guzzle gas? |
Stock cam is around .444 lift if I remember correctly.
On your smog question: 1)Need more specs on the cam to determine if it is smog friendly. 2) I don't live in an emissions required state but I am pretty sure the fact you have no cats on the x-pipe is going to cause it to fail |
i can tell you that the cam is close to the 5.0 cobra cam. Does that help?

Also, how much power would that motor put out about? |

NMRA Pure street (max 310cid) cams are limited to .500 lift and those motors make well over 400hp at the tires. |
stock cam .444 @ 266dur
|
I believe the 5.0 cobra cam has slightly smaller lift, but uses the 1.7 roller rocker to make it overall higher than the .444
|
.496 lift?,any idea who the cam is made by? Also, like Coupe said, hard to say on the power without knowing the duration, and LSA of the cam as well.
