Kenne Bell Supercharger 2010 Camaro SS
4 Attachment(s)
Here are a few pics of my SS, I finished up the install of the 2.8 Kenne Bell a couple of weeks ago.
A Flowmaster Catback is the only other speed modification right now. It dynoed 336 / 334 before the KB, and should dyno about 500 after I plan to do a small cam and ported heads this winter and shoot for close to 550 rwhp. I have lowered it 1 inch with Eibach springs, I also went with Black and Machined replica wheels in 20 x 9 with 275 Pirelli front and 315 Nitto Invo rear tires. I blacked out the rear panel between the tailights and smoked the tailights and added the old school style SS badges front and rear. I also added the front nose stripe similar to the 67-68 Camaro SS. 485/485 I baselined at 336/334, so I gained 150rwhp / 150 rwtq from 9 lbs. of boost I have a LS9 cam (supercharged Z06 vette), Longtube Headers with high flow cats sitting here in my shop ready to be installed, but I am waiting till I get my 2600 stall before I start installing it all. shooting for 530 rwhp. And I am considering a water/ meth kit ...that would get me to about 550 rwhp |
nice numbers....congrats!!!
|
Very nice! Congrats!! :chug:
|
Thanks Guys :chug:
I thought I would be happy with just the blower....but you know how that goes..LOL |
More more more!!!!!
|
I added OBX Stainless 1-7/8" primary longtube headers and high flow cats last weekend, now my exhaust is all 3" from the collector to the tips.
Made a huge difference in power by my "Butt Dyno" ..LOL Not much difference in loudness at idle and low rpms.....But sounds really Goooood from 4000 rpm and up !!:jester: Still collecting up parts to do a Camshaft swap in the next month or two. |
And I quote " I'll never do another set of longtubes" :jester:
|
Quote:
Guess it was hard to resist seeing other guys on the forums get 30+rwhp swapping over to longtubes :jester: |
Thats why they bolt on, always can take them off later lol

Well, as some of you already know…my little cam swap snowballed on me.
My plan was to install a stage 2 blower cam and a 2600 stall converter and that was all. But after I tore down everything I realized that I would be near the limits for the stock pistons and rods. So I I sold my factory LS3 shortblock assembly and decided to get a forged shortblock. My original idea was just to go back with a stock displacement 376, but for just a little more $$ I decided on a 427 cid forged stroker shortblock. Well its back on the road. Drove it 21 miles yesterday!!
I even was a redneck and drove around with the hood off for a little while..LMAO Gonna try to get a few hundered miles on it before I dyno tune it. I cant believe how nice these new fuel injectors idle considering how large they are...my tuner told me they are like 111 lb per hour at 58 psi. :eek2: The injectors came from www.InjectorDynamics.com , i am using the ID1000's Here are a couple of pics...and i will try to get a video up in a few days so yall can hear the nice cam lope  |
With an engine bay that clean, who needs a hood? :jester:
Any projections what kind of power that thing is going to make? |

Car sounds good. I have heard alot of good things about the Id injectors. They are proud of them

Went over to Atlanta Performance and Fabrication yesterday to do a tune on my SS.
Last July my car dynoed 485 rwhp with 9.6 psi of boost (4” pulley) only mods was a Kenne Bell Supercharger and a Flowmaster catback. Yesterday we had to remove the 4” pulley because we were only seeing 6.8 psi with it, so we tried the smallest pulley we had which was a 3-3/8” and we were seeing 8.8 - 9 psi. the SS did …605 rwhp. I was wanting to run 12 psi on the street which should be around 660-680 rwhp, and do a few pulls on the dyno at 16 psi which should be over 700 rwhp. I will talk to Kenne Bell this week and see what pulleys I need to get 16 psi, and I will probably just leave it at 9 psi for daily driving…that should be enough..LMAO So final numbers yesterday …. 605 / 561 on 9 psi  (looking back at this I realized I never uploaded the dyno sheet, so here it is |
:eek2: That is just freekin awsome! Great numbers.

update:
Not a whole lot to update on the SS really. I did get a window tint ticket a couple of months ago in the SS. I knew it was just a matter of time..LOL...My windows used to be 20% with a 50% front windsheild, the front windshelid is what caught the troopers attention. So I ripped it all off and got the ticket signed off and tinted the car legal this time with 35% (actually tinted it myself...been a while since I tinted a vehicle) I also plasti-dipped the wheels all black and added a red pinstripe on the outter edge of the wheel. a little different look for a while..and i can always peel the plasti-dip and the stripe off if i ever get tired of the look. Just pissing around with little small stuff right now till I can get my lower pulley and turn the boost up a little more. |
I actually think I like it better with the new tint. The wheels look good, too. :nice:
|
I am not a fan of the black wheels but I agree with Joseph the lighter window tint looks better IMO
|
How many coats of plastidip? Was thinking of doing this to the Z06
|
I have to say that pics don't do the car justice. You just have to see it in person, especially under the hood. :nice:

Like the car but don't care for the black wheels to much as it's just to much black for this old guy...
I do like the sound of the new engine blower combo though it sounds good!!! |

New update:
I just added a 2012 Camaro ZL1 front bumper, I ordered this 2 days before GM stopped all dealers from being able to order any of the ZL1 specific parts because they are starting up the ZL1 production earlier this week. I think its cool that I have a ZL1 front bumper before any of them hit the streets..LMAO  First pic is how it was.....for comparision |

Yesterday I finally got in my Havoc rear bumper diffuser that I ordered back before Christmas.
Here are some pics. first pic is the stock one on the car and the Havoc below it, the next two pics are of the Havoc installed. Its just more aggressive looking I think :D |
I never cared for the back view of new camaros... but that diffuser really helps! :nice:
|
:nice:
|
Nope, you ruined it. Looks like shit now. :shake:
:jester: I dig it. :nice: |
Thanks Guys!!
I still have a few more parts on the way that I ordered 2+ months ago..LOL |
Looks much better :chug:

Here are some more updated pics.
I added the ZL1 side rockers, ZL1 rear splash shields and a black strip under the headlights. As soon as I get my LED side markers and install then I should be finished on exterior mods for a while..LOL . |
Car looks alot more aggressive. Do you remember what it looks like stock? Lol
|
Looks good. That black strip under the headlights is a pretty minor addition that made a BIG different IMO. :nice:
What did you use to add the red pinstripe to the wheels? Is it just rim tape, or is it painted on? |
Quote:
Quote:
The red pinstripe on the wheels is just a red vinyl stripe that I got off ebay. they make them pre-curved to fit certain diameter wheels. mine is 5mm wide for a 20" wheel. it comes to you in 4 pieces per wheel. pretty easy to install. And dont forget the wheels are painted with Plasti-Dip !! :jester: |

I bet that matte vinyl was tuff to lay in those curves and under the grille line...
End result= looks killer. |

I re-dynoed the car today with 12 #'s of boost.
Final numbers BOGUS..so I removed them. We tried some 15 # pulls, but the belt kept jumping off ...Booooo !!! since Last dyno (605 / 561) I added 3#'s of boost along with an 8 Rib Pulley setup and added a "Super Chiller" ...the chiller runs my intercooler fluid through a box that is tapped into my air conditioner to help lower the Inlet Air Temperature. We were able to lower the IAT by about 50 degrees more than usual and add more timing. Also I think my transmission was slipping a little bit last dyno becauue I didnt follow the correct fill proceedure and was almost 3 quarts low (didnt figure that one out till I got home after last dyno and was doing some test and tune on a deserted road) |
If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought that torque curve was from your truck.

That's a ton of power! I want a ride!

damn nice #s to bad the belt wouldnt let ya hit 16 ....
|
So when is it going to the track?
