Need help with rear coil springs on a Mach1
working on my friends mach1. he just bought some 15X10s with some ET streets. I think they are 275/60/15 or i think 26X10.50 speaking in american.
anyways his dumbass got 15X10s so they interfered with the cobra rear rotors/brakes... we bought 1inch wheel spacers and that solved that problem. but now they rub on the fender lip. I've rolled the fender lip.. but it will still rub some when you hit a decent bump in the road. do you think switching over to a regular 99-04 GT rear spring would lift it up enough to solve our rubbing issue or would he need to buy some 'weight jacker' control arms??? or maybe somebody makes coil spring spacers?? I thought bullitts and mach1s were lowered from the factory 1/2 or 3/4?? anyway here is a picture of it http://i496.photobucket.com/albums/r...10103-1952.jpg its got a procharger and a built auto with a 2300 stall. really makes me NOT miss working on my old cobra at all. complex engine/belt routing BS!! |
It is quite possible that GT rear springs would fix the problem as long as he is not planning on tackling the twisties with it

Grrrr !! I agree...I hate centrifugal blowers on mod motors...they are such a pain in the ass to mess with the belt |

finding some used GT rear springs would be alot cheaper than new control arms. I think he has some badass control arms already they were tubular and painted red what about the spring insulators? can't I get some poly ones that help it get jacked up some Quote:
I don't miss this BS at all! |

I told him to buy 15X8 but he wouldn't listen. now he can't take'em back since they came mounted and balanced from late model resto he ended up ordering those redneck spacers from summit this morning so that will def fix it up its his money so i'll let him redneck it up! they are 275/50/15 whoops http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...5X10-And-15X35 |
