What's with the "boxes" that go around the exhaust pipes coming off the heads? Is that to keep the turbo heat away from the plug wires and heads?

I'd like to see dyno HP and torque curves for the whole RPM range. Obviously it's gonna be down from the GT-40 under 6 grand just based on its construction.
