turns out the very bottom of the pan had been...

turns out the very bottom of the pan had been pushed up slightly. it wasnt visible until the pan was off. it was creating contact with the pickup.

You shouldn't have do any wiring in the dash....

You shouldn't have do any wiring in the dash. Just swap the engine harness and computer if you are staying 5 spd.

I've never used those, but they seem to be similar to the percys. I use the stage 8 fasteners. Most people think they are overkill, but on mod motors you don't want to have to do it twice.

it really didnt seem like it was slipping but i got that new converter in there and and it revved a little higher to move the car. i thoght that just might be the looser converter

It has new fluid and the filter is less than a year old. The linkage is good and tight, and it shifts. I can put it gear with the ignition off and it rolls freely in forward and reverse?
