That sucks but I guess the ring lands are the weak links in the 03/04 cobra motors and you were putting down alot of power so they probably did good to last as long as they did.

at least make sure the body and frame are grounded to the engine. Doesn't matter if you can't figure out where the original ground wires went exactly, just make sure the ground points are clean metal.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about cams or anything like that, I'm sure your drivability is pretty good now since the motor is still stock. That's what I loved about the 4v's, the stock heads and cams love...
