My 3.0 does that in my truck. Sometimes it revs to 4k or more when I push the clutch in. Its usally after driving interstate speed for 30-45 minutes. I was thinking it was my IAC,because I know it needs one.
It hasnt done it in awhile. Im really not sure what causes it,but turning the engine off does reset whatever is sticking.
