Yeah alot of people deleted the irmc's. They are the secondary runners that open up below the intake around 3200 rpm. Alot of the time they get gummed up or the controller box for them goes bad. I deleted mine on my old car so I never would have to work about them. You do loose some tq but gears made up for it.

Also if its not idling well it could be the Iac valve. I believe thats what it is called anyways

My old '98 GT had a problem with the IAC valve. Cleaned it and it straightened right up. Mom says it is starting to act up again now (about 3 years later).

The IAC Valve is commonly a problem on all Fords. I know the IMRC's can be a pain, but I loved em on my 24v Taurus when I had it. Im telling you, if you will pull the codes and post em on here I can be a little more help than just guessing and parts changing.
