Cool 98GT Transmission Problem

Our 98 acts strange. After driving the car for about 30 minutes it does not want to go into overdrive. When the car is cold it seems to work fine, but when warm it does not want to go into OD and acts confused. I think we are going to pull it and do some work on it. I know I should just have it rebuilt but I really want to swap it to a 5 speed.

Any recommendations? Or ideas on cost of a rebuild or a swap?

the swap wasn't so bad, actually. when we did it on Jeanne's car, we got a helluva deal on a t45 and all the associated. I think all total we had about $750 in parts including clutch, computer, etc.

it's a pretty straightforward swap, as Lee, Brian, and Nathan can attest to. Just a little time consuming.

Also, make sure you have access to a person that can program the PATS key. I had to run on the auto computer for a few days because it wouldn't start on the computer that we bought.
