DIY Intercoolers
O.k., so I'm going to put on an A/A intercooler. I have pretty much made up my mind on the core, and I have found a pipe kit minus T-clamps. Besides changing out the BPV, rotating the head unit, and change the pulley to a 3.3, is there anything else that I need to do, or know about??
Does the new BPV have to have a bung welded in?? Also, how exactly do you run the piping, and do I have to move anything?? Here is the pipe kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-Int...31757453QQrdZ1 and the core: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 Thanks, Rich Last edited by The Rock 326; 09-26-2006 at 01:15 PM. |

You will pretty much have to redo all the piping except your inlet to run a A/A intercooler. Not discouraging you because I highly recommend it.
I question the pipe kit that you linked. I didn't see anywhere mention that it was specific for a mustang with a vortech or paxton, so I wonder if you would be just throwing away money buying it. I am sure you could use some of it but there is not enough there that I can see that would get the job done. What BPV are you running? The little bosch or do you have a mini-race? Mini-race would require an actual flange. The bosch would require a short 1" pipe sticking up off the pipe you want it on. |

What you got should work. I have pretty much the same set up except my inlet/outlet is 2.75".

I haven't decided on what BPV I'm going to, but probably a mini race BPV. |

Rock, check out MPH as well, there are MANY threads on DYI intercooler setups. Tim is selling DYI intercoolers as well.

Yea, I saw the cores, but I haven't seen anything on the piping. I tried to call several times, but no answer.
