Then you can start sanding on it, and wash it with hot soapy water to keep the fresh plastic from getting contaminated. Use "Dawn" it cuts through the silicones and crap like that.

you can some paint at AutoZone called 'plasti-kote' it worked real well on my wifes brothers a-pillars. i think it is Krylon brand.

well I made something work. I took the orange peeled paint off the cover with some plastic bumper, paint remover. I took it to the car wash across the street sprayed it down with the paint remover and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. Then I took the pressure washer to it and it took it all off. I now have a fresh surface to work with.
