Fox Body lowering springs?
Looking for good ride quality. H&R or would you use Ford B springs?
I have H&R on my IRS and I like them but I do not know how they ride on live axle 93 GT. |

I don't think any of them are going to have "good" ride quality compared to the IRS. I'd just go with whichever ones I could find the best deal on.

I had 'B' on my Cobra. Ride quality was decent

I've got C-Springs w/ Tokico Blues and it's a firm ride, but not harsh. The car was jacked up with them, so the front was cut 1 coil and rear was dead coil +1/2.

Changing the shocks/struts along with the springs is going to make a tremendous improvement in ride quality. My '98 GT had Eibachs and stock shocks/struts...that car would rattle your teeth loose.

I've got C-springs (one & 1/2 coil cut off) w/Tokico 5 way adjustables in front. Can't remember which springs I'm running in the rear, but I got the Tokico "blues"... MM panhard bar & lower control arms. Factory uppers with urethane bushings. Car really isn't that harsh... but certainly no "slosh box"... Maggie's 2.3 lx I installed GT sway bars, Saleen front springs and C-springs in the rear. All factory control arms. New oem style struts & shocks and it feels more harsh than my 5 liter.
They say that a variable rate spring offers a better ride quality. Also, you have to consider what you are going to use for spring isolaters. Factory ones offer more cushion than say a Prothane, but whichever way you go there, make sure you got something in... A lot of people will take them out to get an extra 1/4 - 1/2", but it really sacrifices ride quality.

As long as you stick with a progressive spring and keep the drop to around an 1" you should be ok with the ride.
