Tire sizes on a SN95
I will be buying new tires in the next couple of months and I am trying to find out what the biggest sizes will fit on a 1995 SN95 with a 17x9 rim.
Currently I have a 255/45/17, the front looks like the size is maxed out, without having rubber sticking out of the wheel well. Is this the largest size on a front? The backs look like I could mount up a 275 no problem, and not have any rub issues, anyone no from experience? I have also thought of just getting all 4 the same size so I can rotate them. With the miles I put on the car, longevity almost more than important as function.

Re: Tire sizes on a SN95
Nathan has 315 Nitto 555Rs on his car and it fills it out nicely. That's about as much tire as you can get on a 9" rim I believe. 275s will fit on the front (that's what came standard on my Cobra, and your '95 should be identical in the front). I'd run the same tire on all 4 wheels since it's your DD and you put a good bit of miles on it.

Jeanne's car has 275's all the way around, and they stick out a little on the front fenders, but I think it looks good...

Re: Tire sizes on a SN95
Depends on what brand tire you go with. On my 17x9's(which are now Nathan's) I ran a 255/40/17 on front and a 315/35/17 DR in back these were nittos which run small in the drag radials. If you run nittos I'd go with either a 245/45/17 or a 255/40/17 in front (IMO the 255/45/17's have too much sidewall) and either a 275/40/17 or a 285/40/17 in back.

Re: Tire sizes on a SN95
I am not sure if there is a different backspacing on my rims compared to the ones on the blueberry, but on my car the 255 is alomst even with the outside of the wheel well, I would think that the 275 would stick out.
Being that this is a true dd that sees lot's of miles (70-100 per day), I really need to deciede if I want to have two different sizes of tires. If I do go to two different sizes it would be 255's in front and either 275, or (?) in back. Now the next topic will be about what tire get the most life

Re: Tire sizes on a SN95
not to hi-jack a thread, but i was thinking of this earlier since i will be shopping for tires pretty soon. if you guys with the knowledge of what tire sizes fit and with which width rim could get together a FAQ it would save on alot of these questions which are sure to be plentiful as the site grows. just my .02

Re: Tire sizes on a SN95
I say a 255/40 is a good size to put at all four corners.
