No oil pressure

I swear I have the worst luck ever.

I just got my new 5.0 stroker in my car. The shop had a problem getting oil to build pressure on the initial start. They finally got pressure- test drove and everything was great. I brought it home and let it sit over night. I went to crank it the next morning, and as soon as it started no oil pressure again. Before I could turn it off the pressure gauge shot up. I let it idle for a minute, and pressure was still good. I cut it off let it sit over night again. I went out this morning to crank it, and yet again had no pressure. I had a buddy come over and check it. He think's it maybe the oil pump. The pump is a brand new MMR billet pump. Other than the pump what do you guy's and girl's think could be the problem? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
