Re: Trick Flow Engine Kit For 5.0
I really like those kits. I sell a lot of them. A stock shortblock, 100k, with the street heat kit installed, made 300 rwhp. Really runs strong on the street too. I would go with the track heat kit, comes with a track heat intake and the better valve springs and retainers on them, and the cool trick flow logo milled into the end of the heads. what can I say, I'm a sucker for the bling.

Re: Trick Flow Engine Kit For 5.0
you would go with the track heat even if the car was going to used mainly for street use. I know it moves the power band up 500 rpm. I was trying to decide which one to go with. I'll also be adding a blower later down the road too.

Re: Trick Flow Engine Kit For 5.0
I haven't noticed a huge difference in the two down low, but up top there is a slight difference, the track heat making some more power. I would do it in a heartbeat.
You know, since you have the hook up, you can mix and match the TFS components, I used 1.72 rockers, R box intake, track heat heads( have to specify you want the real ones, not the streets with track heat hardware), and stage 1 cam. It was only like 40 bucks more than the standard kit. Well worth it for my application, and couldn't argue the price.

Re: Trick Flow Engine Kit For 5.0
You might want to check out the latest 5.0 rag. They have an article toward
the end about them adding a Trick Flow top end kit to an '88. With the top end kit, Accufab throttle body, 80mm mass air and AFM power pipe, they gained 72rwhp and 39rwtq. That was also on 89 octane since that was what the owner had filled up with before bringing the car to their shop.

Re: Trick Flow Engine Kit For 5.0
you would have to replace injectors with that kit right? so what would you suggest 24? 30? maybe even 36?
