Edelbrock Spring seat?

I was wondering if anybody knos how far you can cut the spring seats on a set of edelbrock performers? i have a set of comp valve springs that comp rec. for this cam i have and the seats need to be cut for the correct installed height . thanks, Jonathan

How much more room do you need? Can you get what you need with offset locks and retainers?
