Gears and transmissions?
I have 28 11.50et streets with 410 gears and 5spd.On 150 shot Im having to shift at about 35 or 40ft out im going through the quarter at 7200rpm.Im going with a powerglide, with a spool will these gears be good for a hard launch with a 1.76 low gear and transbrake. The rear end is shot so I might as well do it all at once.Any suggestions?Any guys on here with a powerglide?

With a Glide I recomend a 3.73 to 4.10. This is the thing, you can launch hard, but you still going to the traps at 7200rpm. If you are going to keep the 28" slicks, stay with the 4.10. That means about 600ft that is when you probably shift in high gear. If you drive in the street is going to be a bit anoying due to the 1st gear in the tranny. Stall should be at 3800rpm to 4000rpm if you are using nitrous. If I was you, I'll go with a solid roller with a tight lash, it will wake up that motor. I think the glide is going to slow you down a bit. I'll go with a bad ass C4 to keep the revs close to the power band and a set of 3.73 gears, then let her eat!!!

Sell the glide and I'll sweeten the deal on the C4.
What horsepower/torque does the engine make? And what RPM's do these peak at? Knowing this will help decide the gears and the right stall.

The problem with 3 pedals in a nitrous car is inconsistency. Unless it has a pro shifted tranny, like a liberty, something that does not use the clutch to shift, but streetability goes up on smoke and the tranny too if you don't how to drive it in the street.

First of all thanks for input thats what im looking for is more opinions.Okay,I know its going to different on the street im prepared to deal with that. The reason for the automatic is its hard to get 500hp 650tq to the ground dumping a clutch I have a 1.57 60ft when i should have 1.35 or 1.40.It ran 6.80 1/8th mi friday nite I want 6.00 out of it.I dont know who all has seen it run but its very violent off the line it pulls the wheels 6or8 inches when i shift into 2nd.An auto would be smooth and consistant plus i can put a 2nd stage of nos on it.The motor is built very well it has a lot more in it i just cant get it to the ground. It dont matter to me which trans c4 or glide but glide is way cheaper.Im just ready to gettr done.Keep the suggestions coming guys.

It made 482hp609tq at the wheels on 150 with 8 degrees timing.I run different plugs now and 11 degrees timing on 150 shot. Its a n71 afm cam 110 lobe separation 232/240 dur 576lift 1.6 rocker. It has a 6600 shift point and will turn at least 7400rpm thats what msd pills it.PM me with more info on tha c4 Im still interested I'd still like to drive it never drove one with c4.

The glide will be tolerable, but you will want more gear...especially since you're running 1/8th!!!
Or the C4 would be perfect. I got pics of it in the F/S section now.
