I agree with most that 165's would be good for n/a and 185's if there is forced induction plans in the future.

The other question I have is would running a 58cc head with flat-top pistons be pushing the compression ratio for use with nitrous?

The compression rule is exactly the opposite compared to a blower. More compression is generally better with nitrous.
