Question Just to make sure ...

Just wanted to make sure that there won't be any clearance issues before we tear into this thing. The plan is to stick with the Ecam for the time being due to the automatic and swap it for the TFS once she does the 5 spd conversion. Will be using 6.7" pushrods and 1.6 rockers that were included in the Street Heat kit. I don't see why there would be a problem, but better safe than sorry.

E303

TFS Street Heat

Everything will work, but I dont really understand the point in swapping the cam again later on. Why not just put the tf cam in to start with? Unless of coarse you just like having to tear the engine apart twice.

because she's not doing the 5spd swap right now and isn't planning on putting a stall on the auto, so she'll be sticking with the ecam until she's ready to do the conversion

They look very similar in terms of stats. You might as well go ahead and swap out the cam while you are at it. I really don't think we'll have a problem with it being an automatic.

I am willing to bet the tf cam will work just as well as the e cam with the aod. I think pretty much any aftermarket cam isnt going to start making power until around 2500 rpms, including Fords alphabet cams. Not positive on that but I just dont think you are going to see that big of a difference between the two.

Re: Just to make sure ...

Yeah, I just looked over the recommendations on trickflow's site, she could probably get away with it for the time being ... It's still her call though.

I had originally thought that this cam was recommended with 5 spd, but that's the next cam up.
