Unhappy Help With A Project

Ok, I know this probaly isn't right but I'l,l try anyways. I HAve a 1984 Thunderbird FILA Project. Since it's a "fox" car you can change parts with fox stang's. My biggest problem is that my car has the 5.0 CBI. The previous owner cut the wiring harness to the engine and I can't see m to get her started. Fuel pump will not kick on and both injectors are hot at all times. I know I could switch to a carb but I'm trying to "restore with style". If you have any idea's, hate mail, help or anytihng else please let me know, Thanks.

This is what it was before she was sold...

And when I bought her....

New harness! Those TBI injectors can be problematic too. Man, I've never tinkered with them, but it's still an EFI, so check everything out and get that harness taken care of. That's my first guess to the problem.

Re: Help With A Project

Like Coupe mentioned do a search for the harness.

Oh yeah, isn't it CFI instead of CBI?

Qwksnke , it is. I can't type today and I was on my way to work. And to teh best of my knowlage, so far I have been un-able to find another harness that will work. Everyone I have asked told me the ONLY harness that will work is another 84-84 FILA harness.

Re: Help With A Project

ok I gotta ask.

What is FILA?

Next, are you wanting to do a concours resto or are you willing to up it to a better injection system such as the SEFI on the fox mustangs and later t-birds?

Re: Help With A Project

A Fila is an option package on the regular t-chick, It has white leather seats, all the power options and an AOD standerd. Base engine is a 3.8 v6 and and 5.0 is an option ( very rare like mine in a Fila) You also got the speical white pain with 14" "swiss cheese wheels". I am willing to just go to a 84-84 Mustang carb/intake but i want to restore her to as stock as possoble. I will be doing alittle bit of an updated Int. And some dress up work. Everything else is all a maybe. All ideas are welcome as are hate mail and anything else.

as a matter of fact, that car was inspired by the world famous FILA sportswear, hasnt anybody ever watched Moto GP racing or a tennis match.
