oil pan

I believe my oil pan is cracked the reason I say this is because when I changed the oil I noticed a oil leak witch I thought was coming from the oil plug but after the oil change I got to noticeing that it looked like it was coming out just to the right of the plug and above it about an 1/2 an inch. So my ??? is has anyone tried to weld a pan up before with it still on the car it is an after market pan but I don't know what type it is but if I have to pull it off I will just buy another one to replace it because I don't like to do thing's twice.
