The E303 was targeted towards automatics more so than the B303. Seems like higher lift but shorter duration than the B??

Less lobe separation would increase overlap and make more "chop"

Yep. E303 has 220* duration @ .050" with .498 lift, and the B303 has 224* duration @ .050" with .480 lift. I'm about to swap out my E for a B as soon as I get the time and motivation to do it.

BUT, you can pick up used letter cams all day for $100+/-. I'm probably going with an AFM cam on my next build if I can ever build up the funds for it.

AMEN! I liked the 2 different cams I owned so much for the old cobra, I already have one of their cams picked out for the 08

True, but I assure you, you will not see the power gains to make it worth the labor of swapping. While a 'B' cammed car is usually stronger than an 'E' cammed car, neither are worth the costs and labor for swapping one for the other..

If the OP's car has a stock pre-87 rotating assy, I would not put any aftermarket cam in it as they did not have valve reliefs cut in the pistons from the OEM

Agreed on all accounts (except my cam swap, since I've got everything just laying around to do it). But I don't know what his budget is I may sell both of mine and go with an AFM stick. They don't seem all expensive after pricing cams for the truck.

If it's been bored .030", they aren't OEM pistons.

True, I overlooked that part

Wasn't there something about the early model heads too?
