I need a motor

the 4.6 in my 01 GT gave out on me the morning comeing home from work I was sitting at a red light listing to some rocking 80s music then the car started to shake really bad and then nothing then the service engine light came on I turned off the radio and the car had died !!!! after craking it back up it made a loud thump thump knock tic tic tic tic tic and did that the 2 miles back home im almost at the end of the line and being backed into a corner i need a new motor and im racking my brain thinking of how to come up with $$$

man that sucks, well tear it apart and see what went wrong. but a p.i. motor costs around 1200$.
oh yea did you ever fix that ticking sound, if not (i could be wrong) your motor jumped time. just a thought

you need to just put a LS1 in the car & be done with it.

dude if I can get a motor for that price please help me find where one is at

yeah I really would just go ahead and swap motors and rebuild the old one if its able to be saved but this is my D. D. car and need it back on the road quick
and im not putting an LS1 in it

I would get the car scanned before you dish out the money for a new motor. Will it still crank? If you can wait till sunday I can bring my scanner and check it out for you.
