opinion on intakes
i was wondering what the best intake for my car would be right now there is a perfrormer 289 with a holly 600 vac secon the car. i am planning on getting a 650 or 750 with mechanical sec. and i have heard good things about the victor jr and the funnel web by patterson?(cant remember exact name) i like the high rise intakes but i dont think they will clear my factory hood i was just lookin for some peoples opinions i have been told by more than a couple of people that the intake is killin my car the cars mods are listed in my sig

If it is a street car and you wont run more then 150hp shot of nitrous the best intake is the Performer RPM Airgap period. I ran one then changed to a Victor jr so I could spray more. On the motor I lost over a tenth et on motor.
Reading all the articles the two are close on hp up to like 6000 then the single plane gains about 10hp. But down low the torque gain is huge with the dual plane, thats where youll feel the difference. |

the specs are in my sig but the cam is a f303 and i normally run it to about 6k and going over the line at 6200

Victor jr would be better suited to a 331-347 IMO...but it would work. A nice dual plane would also get you where you want to be and still have a little grunt down-low. Look at some of the stuff from Weiand and Edelbrock.

All your car needs is a Performer RPM Air Gap and that is it.And nothing more than a 650 Carb

The victor jr is way to big for whats done to the motor maybe if you had a stroker or a 351 motor. like what everybody else said air gap should do just fine.
